What a great tune from a stellar album! It spurred me to play the entire cd. And then the entire Vinyl album! Both sounded great. And I read the labels and liner notes.. the song is listed as written by “(Barlow & Weir)”, as are most of the songs on the album. This puzzled me. Who is Barlow? Some internet research provided a most interesting answer (which I suppose any Deadhead might now). Barlow is actually a lyricist… and it is none other that John Perry Barlow, the internet pioneer and a founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
The backing band on Bombs Away is equally interesting! It includes David Paich on keys, and Mike Porcaro on bass, both of Toto fame. And the wind instruments were done by Tom Scott, he the leader of the LA Express.
Well this indeed was quite a little gem. Hats off to the Staff at The Real Top 100 !
Very upbeat fun lyrics. Never heard it before.
An obscure little tune I’ve never heard before. Like it. “Change the world.”

Toe-tapping, cheerful.
